New items do not sync or I do not receive reminders or alerts

If you are having issues with reminders - for instance, reminders only work when the app is open or activities do not synchronize across phones, please try the following.

This resolves background sync issues for specific Android phones that disable this for apps:

• Open the Android Settings app
• Scroll to, and tap on “Apps"
• Tap on the Doggy Time app
• Tap on “Battery” in the “Usage” menu.
• Ensure the “Allow background activity” slider is ON.
• Tap the “Optimize battery usage” button.
• Near the top left, change the dropdown from “Apps not optimized” to “All”.
• Find Doggy Time, and tap it to turn the slider OFF.
